Prohibited Conduct and Language
Some behaviour and language is never acceptable at Hydrate. We maintain a strict zero-tolerance policy on the conduct listed below, because it harms real people regardless of any in-character story. These rules apply everywhere: in-game, out-of-game, and across every Hydrate community platform.
Prohibited conduct
These actions and behaviours are never permitted, under any circumstance:
- Rape, including roleplay or references
- Suicide, including roleplay or references
- Self-harm, including roleplay or references
- Roleplaying a character under the age of 18
- Pregnancy roleplay
- Sexual harassment, including:
- Unwanted sexual advances or explicit comments
- Inappropriate, explicit, or suggestive behaviour that causes discomfort
- Out-of-character (OOC) threats or intimidation, including:
- Threatening another player outside of roleplay
- Encouraging or inciting harm (physical, emotional, or otherwise) toward any individual
- Doxxing, harassment, or blackmail of any kind
Prohibited language
This language and these expressions are never permitted, regardless of intent:
- Racist, homophobic, or other discriminatory slurs
- Derogatory or degrading terms, including:
- Sexually charged insults (for example, slut or whore)
- Accusatory insults such as paedophile
- Any other derogatory, offensive, or discriminatory language
Your responsibility
We aim to offer an immersive, creative roleplay environment with as much freedom as possible, but that freedom does not excuse harmful conduct or language.
Hydrate is an inclusive community that welcomes people of all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. Discrimination, bigotry, or exclusionary behaviour of any kind is not tolerated.
It is your responsibility to ensure your actions, words, jokes, and storylines respect boundaries and do not make others uncomfortable, whether in-game or out-of-game.
Enforcement
Hydrate staff have the final say on what is deemed inappropriate.
Attempts to justify harmful behaviour as "just roleplay" or "just a joke" will not be accepted.
Violations result in immediate and serious consequences, including permanent removal from the server and all other Hydrate community platforms.
Reporting
Report any player who breaches these rules through our Support Discord. All reports are handled promptly and discreetly by senior staff to protect player safety and privacy. For the full process, see Reporting a Rule Violation.
