Garages, Impound and Lost Cars
How to park and get your vehicles back, what happens to cars after a restart, and how impound works.
Can't find your car?
Open the Vehicles app on your phone. It shows whether each vehicle is parked, out, impounded or held by police, and Track on GPS sets a waypoint to it, or to the garage it's parked in.
Parking
Drive into a parking space at any garage. When you're in a space, a prompt shows the garage name.
- Park: press F1 and choose Park Vehicle, or hold Left Alt on the vehicle.
- Take a vehicle out: press F1 at the garage and choose Parking to see what's stored there.
Public garages are all over the city, including the multi-storey Red Garage, City Central, Integrity Way, Little Seoul and the Great Ocean Highway. Aircraft need an aircraft licence to take out.
One Garage at a Time
A vehicle can only be taken out from the garage it's stored in. If it's somewhere else, you can have it moved to the garage you're at for $350.
Where Did My Car Go?
Vehicles don't stay out in the world forever. Your vehicle is put back into storage when:
- The server restarts. Every vehicle is put away.
- Nobody has got into the driver's seat for 2 hours (20 minutes on Cayo Perico).
Either way, it goes back to the garage it was last parked in, or taken out from. A brand-new car goes to the dealership's garage. Use Track on GPS or Parking history in the Vehicles app to find it.
The Vehicles App

Tow to impound isn't available while Toben Towing has someone on duty (message them in the Services app instead), or while on-duty police are near the vehicle.
Impound
Vehicles end up in the impound when they're towed or seized. Talk to Impound Iain at Toben Towing, in the city or in Sandy Shores, to get yours back.
How long the vehicle is held, and the release fee, depend on why it was impounded:

The fee comes out of your bank (cash isn't accepted). The vehicle then goes to the Toben Towing (Public) garage at the city yard, even if you released it in Sandy Shores.
Vehicles held by police can't be collected from Impound Iain. They're released to Red Garage, Level 1 at the next server restart.
Keys and Locks
Keys are digital, so they can't go missing. To take back keys you've shared, use Manage Keys on the vehicle, or just park it: parking cancels everyone else's keys. See Vehicles.
