Robbing and Scamming

Scamming is Prohibited

Scamming other players is strictly not allowed under any circumstances.

Robbing Requires Prior Roleplay

Robbing another player requires meaningful prior roleplay and should contribute to an immersive and dynamic experience for all parties involved. This includes clear build-up and justification through roleplay interactions.

Heist Interference Rules

  • No Interference with Active Heists: Criminals cannot interfere with another group’s active heist once it has started, provided the heist group has hostages and is actively engaged in roleplay.

    • Fleeca Banks - An 'Active Heist' is indicated when the bank status light is Yellow. When bank status lights are either red or green, it may be breached.
  • When Hostages Are Not Present: If hostages are not present, interference may occur but must adhere to standard criminal roleplay rules (e.g., meaningful roleplay context, not random interference).

Guidance on Robbing

  • Criminal vs. Criminal Robbery: Robbing within the criminal sphere is allowed, acknowledging the inherent risks of engaging in criminal activities. Proceed with caution.

Excessive robbing or chain robbing is not allowed. If your roleplay is repeatedly ruining the experience of others, or if your roleplay is solely focussed on robbing, you may still be excluded from the server. Staff have the final say on this.

  • Civilian Robbery: Robbing players roleplaying as civillians or working civilian jobs is not permitted under this rule unless there is substantial roleplay reason. Criminal character players must focus on interactions within their sphere.

Item Restrictions

To ensure fairness and balance, there are programmatic restrictions on what can and cannot be robbed. These mechanics are in place to maintain a healthy in-game economy and avoid excessive losses for players.

  • Hydrated Players: Players with a "hydrated" status will have more items available for robbery. However, repeated "loot-boxing" behaviour will place their hydrated status at risk.

  • Loot-boxing Definition: Excessively targeting other players for items without meaningful roleplay or justification is considered loot-boxing and will result in penalties, including the revocation of the hydrated status or server exclusions.

  • Mechanics Limitation: You cannot force anyone to hand over any item that you cannot mechanically steal. This includes keys to vehicles, or forcing someone to unlock their vehicle - unlocking vehicles must be done via the keys item.

Opportunistic Scenarios

Robbing is permitted when the target has clearly neglected their assets or security. For example:

  • Stealing unattended items, such as goods left unsecured (e.g., drying weed in an exposed location).
  • Poor situational awareness, such as players not maintaining a lookout during criminal activities.

Weapons and Criminal Activities

Players may defend their criminal activities with weapons as long as they adhere to the RDM guidelines. Verbal warnings or clear threats must precede any hostile actions.

Note: Hydrate staff do not compensate for robbed items when a rule break occurs.
