New Life Rule
When your character is in a "incapacitated" state (i.e., the game notifies you that you are incapacitated, and your health is reduced to 0), you must not provide any information to those around you regarding the circumstances of your death. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Names of perpetrators
- Locations or directions of travel of perpetrators
- Any other information witnessed while incapacitated
The only exception is that you are encouraged to provide information about the injuries to your character, either verbally or using the /me
command.
Respawning
You are only permitted to respawn if no one is around you, and you are not engaged in active roleplay. If an emergency services worker has verbally interacted with you or moved your character's body, you are not permitted to respawn. You must wait for treatment or processing.
Memory Wipe
If you choose to respawn and teleport to a hospital (using the "Local EMS Transport" option in-game), your character must forget all events that led to their death.
When Your Character Can Remember
If your character is treated by an emergency services worker (police, ambulance and fire), they are permitted to remember the events leading up to their death. However, this only applies to police, ambulance and fire; if anyone else transports you to the hospital, your character must forget all events that led to their death.
Returning to The Scene Cooldown
If you are incapacitated during any hostile interaction you must wait 15 minutes from the time of your incapacitation before re-engaging in the same scenario. You can refer to this in-roleplay as your character having "PTSD".
It is the responsibility of players to ensure they adhere to these guidelines.
This applies to everyone, no matter what type of character you play.
Revenge Roleplay / Witness to Your Murder
If another character witnesses your murder, they may inform your character of this information. You are then able to act on this, provided you follow the rules regarding turn-by-turn hostilities.
Turn-By-Turn Hostilities
Once your character downs another character or group in a given roleplay context, you must not repeatedly go after the same character or group for the same reason. You may only retaliate if the other party chooses to retaliate against you.
Example 1
- Your character has a gun stolen by another character.
- You decide to take revenge (following the Random Deathmatch (RDM) rule) and end up downing the other character.
- This character has witnesses who provide them with information linking back to you.
- They decide to take further revenge and down you.
- You are then permitted to retaliate or decide to let the situation end.
Example 2
- Your character has a gun stolen by another character.
- You decide to take revenge (following the RDM rule) and end up downing the other character.
- This character has witnesses who provide them with information linking back to you.
- The other character sets up a meeting to discuss and reach an agreement about the situation without further hostilities.
- You are no longer permitted to pursue them for this reason.
