Metagaming
Metagaming is the act of using information that your character has not naturally acquired through roleplay. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Gaining knowledge from out-of-character (OOC) sources, such as streams, videos, Discord, or social media, and using it to influence in-game actions or decisions.
- Coordinating or sharing information through third-party platforms like Discord or messaging services that hasn’t been established through in-character (IC) interactions.
- Making decisions based on knowledge your character could not realistically have, such as knowing another character’s location, plans, or affiliations without having learned it in-character.
- Sharing knowledge or resources between characters. Each character must have their own separate in-roleplay life and knowledge, and no information can be transferred between them. One character cannot "know" or reference what another character has done or experienced. This also applies to referring to other players’ characters as being related (e.g., "your cousin" or similar).
All communication involving characters must take place through in-server methods, such as verbal interactions, phones, or radios.
Keeping IC and OOC information separate is essential to maintaining the integrity of the roleplay environment. Violations of the metagaming rule will be taken seriously and result in harsher penalties.
