How to Play

Welcome to Hydrate! Follow these four steps to get set up and into the city.

You'll need three things: a legitimate copy of GTA V, the FiveM client, and a Verified role in our Discord. Work through the steps in order.

1. Own and Launch GTA V

You must own a legitimate copy of Grand Theft Auto V to play on any FiveM server.

Buy and install GTA V from either store:

Before continuing, launch GTA V at least once and sign in to your Rockstar Games Social Club account.

2. Install FiveM

FiveM is a free modification for GTA V that lets you play on custom multiplayer servers like Hydrate.

  1. Go to the official FiveM website.
  2. Click Download Client.
  3. Read and agree to the terms, then install FiveM.
  4. Launch FiveM and sign in with your cfx.re account when prompted — create one free at cfx.re if you don't have one.

3. Get Verified in the Hydrate Discord

You cannot connect to the server until you have the Verified role in our Discord.

  1. Join the Discord: discord.gg/hydraterp.
  2. If you're new, complete onboarding and choose Play on the FiveM server to receive the Verified role.
  3. If you're already in the Discord but not yet Verified, open Channels and Roles at the top of the sidebar and select Play on the FiveM server.

4. Connect to the Server

You can join in one of two ways. Both require you to be Verified in Discord first.

Option A: Direct Connect link

Click this link and FiveM will launch straight into Hydrate:

Option B: Server browser

  1. Open FiveM.
  2. Go to the Servers tab.
  3. Clear any language filters (or set the filter to Australian English).
  4. In the top-right search bar, type Hydrate.
  5. Select the Hydrate server and click Connect.

Troubleshooting

If you can't connect, check the following:

  • Discord is open and linked to FiveM.
  • Discord was open before you launched FiveM.
  • You have created a cfx.re account and linked it to FiveM.
