What is Ventures?

Ventures is a new app on your tablet that tracks the legal work you do around the city and pays you a bonus for it. Your normal pay doesn't change. Ventures pays on top.

Fishing, crab pots, trucking, farming, hunting, the butcher, mining, the quarry, smelting, gold panning, metal detecting, garbage runs, recycling, oil wells, Yoink fares, BilgeCo warehouse work, and now window cleaning and PostOp. Every shift earns work points and Ventures XP, whether or not you're on a contract.

Everything Ventures pays you waits in the app until you collect it at a bank.

Contracts

Not sure what to do today? The contract board gives you something to aim for.

• A fresh board every day, spread across different activities. Each offer shows roughly how long it'll take and what it pays before you take it
• Short jobs to weekly projects. Grab a quick one for half an hour, or settle into a bigger one over a few sessions
• Up to three at a time, one per activity. The clock only starts once you accept, and your terms never change after that
• Supporting contracts cover the slower side of the work, like smelting, tanning, processing meat and working your oil wells
• Don't fancy an offer? You get a few rerolls every week to swap it for something else

Finish a contract and you're paid a cash bonus and XP on top of what the work itself pays.

Weekly bonuses

Your work points add up across the week, and the app shows how close you are to the next payout.

• Three weekly tiers, each paying a bonus on top of the last
• Activity milestones reward you for sticking with one thing, and keep paying the more you do
• Leaderboards rank everyone by work points, today, this week, this month and all time

Window cleaning

Head to the Crystal Clear depot, opposite the Little Seoul LTD on Lindsay Circus, and talk to the supervisor. Put down a small deposit for a company ute, pull on your overalls and get to work. Park the ute back at the depot and sign out to get your deposit back.

• Fill the tank from the hose racks at the depot
• Clean the shopfronts on your round in any order. Each window is a quick wiping minigame. Long, even strokes leave it spotless and earn extra reputation
• Finish a shop a couple of times and it becomes a regular, marked on your board and worth a little more

Work your way up from the street to the skyline:

On the cradle jobs you clip on at the top of the building and ride the cradle up and down the glass, cleaning the marked windows as you go. You can step off any time.

PostOp courier

The PostOp warehouse is on Plaice Place, Elysian Island. Talk to the supervisor, pick a job and a vehicle, and put down a small deposit.

• Load up by hand. Grab parcels off the stack and carry them to the back of your van or truck
• Deliver to the door. Park up, take a parcel out the back and walk it to the front door or shop counter
• Head back for the next job, or sign out to get your deposit back

Rounds go to houses and apartments right across the city. As you level up you'll take on freight to shop counters, then priority parcels against the clock: knock, get it signed for, and earn extra reputation for being on time.

Better with a mate

Both jobs can be worked as a party of two. The leader takes the job for both of you and you share the one vehicle. While you're working alongside each other, every window or parcel either of you finishes pays both of you in full, plus a bit of extra reputation. Working together never pays less than working alone.

Both jobs pay more with every level, have their own Ventures contracts, and show the week's top workers on the supervisor's desk.
